This is the first link up of the new year and I promise stability and great things on Mondays in 2014. So make it your business to paint your nails on Sunday evenings while watching your shows and come link up with us on Mondays.
MANICure Monday is starting off the new year with a new hostess. I want to welcome Alisha from Coilylocks.com to the mix. She takes her nail art to another level and shares a love for nail art and polish like Efie and I do. She is going to be an awesome fit.
I’m hosting this week. Linky will be open until Friday!
Seeing that I have tons of polish that I haven’t even touched I am making it my business to try the colors that I haven’t tried before. If I don’t like them they will be given away. Sad to say the color I used this week will be the first casualty.
I used Finger Paint color “Whose Hue” and my question is Whose idea was it to make this color. I don’t like it. I suppose it could be that it doesn’t look well on my skin color. It is a purplish color with a tad bit of sparkle.
I couldn’t deal with the color by itself so I added a little metallic- Essie “Penny Talk” the gold did a little something but I don’t know how long this will last
Looked a little something like this:
Hope your digits came out better than mine. Let me see your MANICure!! Don’t forget to grab the link up button!
I chose to keep my MANICure simple this week. We are getting back to normal with the link ups so you can find the linky at Efie’s house this week.
I used Sally Hansen’s Good to Grape and Revlon’s Whimsical top coat to give a little shimmer to the purple. I wasn’t thrilled or disappointed with the purple. It was just purple, I almost wanted it to be a little lighter but I loved the outcome when I lightly overlayed it with the Whimsical.
I’ll start off by saying my manicure this week sucks. I just wanted some polish on my nails. Grabbed a few bottles that were on the top and went to work. I really wanted to go back and try the Sally Hansen polishes that I blogged about here without having to do some sort of design.
I used the Fuzzy Coat in All Yarned Up, and the Xtreme Wear polishes in Green with Envy and Pacific Blue.
I looooove Pacific Blue. I’m not particularly crazy about the Fuzzy Coat. You have to put on way too many coats to get the desired effect which means you have to sit still forever to make sure it dries. I’ll pass on that.
So here is my thrown together, bootleg Mani.
What are you rocking on your digits this week? Come link up
This week I am doing something different. Instead of spotlighting my manicure for the week
which doesn’t exist I want to highlight Coco Rae, LLC. A few weeks back I know you remember my post about being selected as one of Atlanta’s bloggers that got to get their own nail color in the Coco Rae Tastemaker Collection.
The collection is finally available for purchase and there is an awesome spread in the current issue of Tastemaker Magazine spotlighting all of the other amazing Atlanta Bloggers that were included in the collection. Go take a peek here. Tastemaker Mag is also a blog so make sure to look to on the right sidebar for the option to subscribe to the free publication.
I had a ton of fun working with all of the ladies involved in the project, including Courtney who is the owner of Coco Rae. Courtney is a remarkable young lady who is on her way and I would love it if you would spread the word and support her endeaver. Coco Rae polishes are 4 free, meaning they don’t contain Toluene, Formaldehyde, Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), and camphor. There is a wide selection of colors and the formula covers well.
Courtney, owner of Coco Rae LLC.
To sweeten the deal, Coco Rae is currently offering 20% off for Mother’s Day. The deal ends on May 10. Please visit the website for more details.
Now it’s time to show off your MANICure for the week. Linky is open until Friday!
Okay. I think I am finally back in the groove of doing my nails weekly.
This week I wanted to use a few colors that I picked up on clearance recently. The Sonia Kashuk I picked up from Target for $1.38 and the Revlon during a recent half off sale at Rite Aid. I can never pass up clearance nail polish. I mean like ever. It’s all fun and games until you have $15 worth of $1.38 nail polish…not that I know.
Sonia Kashuk: Tantalizing Teal
I’m not sure if I like the Muse on me but it looks really pretty in the bottle. This was my first time using the Sonia Kashuk line. It covered well and could completely get the job done in two coats and the brush was pretty awesome.
Your turn! I have started using a new linky tool that doesn’t require you to have a blog so feel free to link up and show your digits if you don’t have an online home. Can’t wait to see what you ladies come up with. Linky is open until Friday.
Last Thursday was the debut of the Atlanta Tastemaker Collection blogger inspired S/S nail polish collection
The crowd was great, and the energy was awesome. There was lots of mingling, partaking of Cami Cakes, smiling and manicures.
Efie and Kita taking advantage of their free manicures. I don’t blame them!
Don’t forget we were in a boutique. As hard as I tried I ended up leaving with a little something something and so did Eboni!
A shot of all of the bloggers that are included in the collection
(l to r) Mattie, Cath, Courtney, Allison, Tiffini, Eboni and Yours Truly
Sunday we had a photo shoot for the magazine spread. Here is an Instagram sneak peek of one of my shots. The spread will be out the second week in March and I will be sure to share those images when they are available.
Also once the polish is available for purchase I will post the link.
When was the last time you had a proper manicure?!
