{Weekend in Review} Chill.Mode

May 26, 2014

This weekend was the perfect kick off to Summer.

Addison’s last day of school was last Wednesday and Adrian’s was Friday. Come Saturday morning we had a house full of children to include my nephew, as well as my niece and her friend.

By 11a everyone including the Mr. and I was outside playing.

When it was too hot to play outside the older children ventured inside to help my MIL make a cake. I just love this photo, as we know Big Mama doesn’t exist any more and it was such a joy to see them in the kitchen with Grandma.

While everyone was sucking up the air inside and taste testing cake batter I was left outside with a sweet little girl who got a new bike and was dead set on riding and roasting in the afternoon sun.

Hold on Doc….Hold on!!

Once it cooled off  everyone made their way back outside for a little evening breeze. My niece caught this photo of the Mr. and I. You know he makes rare appearances around here.

Later in the evening my bestie Erika stopped by with her family. While watching the playoff game #GoHeat,  we snuck in a few #Usies

Sunday, we ventured to Chuck E. Cheese for a birthday party.

Today/Monday we are planning to stay close to home. We may take a visit to a local park that has a dedicated memorial section for our fallen soldiers. Maybe I’ll try to recreate this photo from last year

Heritage Park

A HUGE thank you to all who have served and are serving. Please be sure to tell Service Men/Women thank you when you see them.

Have a great Memorial Day!!!

Gimme Five with GoGo squeeZ

April 1, 2014
GoGo squeeZ Gimme Five

School must be an extremely tiring place that renders little people famished. The moment my babies step in the place they are in my refrigerator and cupboards looking for something to eat. For this very reason I do my best to keep healthy snacks within reach for them.

GoGo squeeZ is one of the brands that I keep in stock. Not only are they perfect for after school snacks but they are also easy for me to grab and go and head out to the baseball field or wherever else our full schedule may take us.

GoGo squeeZ has added a new flavor to their roster. The children and I are loving the new blend of 5 different fruits in Gimme Five to include apple, mango, strawberry, peach and banana.

GoGo squeeZ Gimme Five

in case you didn’t know GoGo squeeZ is gluten free along with a whole host of other wholesome awesomeness.

GoGo squeeZ Gimme Five

Once they have gotten their tummies filled they commence with their usual afternoon foolishness. I just love them!!

What wholesome snacks do you feed your child(ren)? Are you a GoGo squeeZ fan? Do you eat your kids snacks? I do. Are you afraid of the looming Summer vacation grocery bill that will leave you without a house or a home? I am.

A Day Out With Thomas

October 23, 2012

As I mentioned in my Weekend WrapUp post, this weekend the babies and I headed a few hours south of Atlanta to Cordele, GA for a Day Out with Thomas. The drive down wasn’t so bad but after those kids ran me ragged I was struggling trying to get back. They fell asleep before I pulled out of the parking lot good.

We were cutting it close so we had to run to get on the train for our scheduled 1:30 departure. The train was packed to capacity, we finally found our seats and right on time the conductor came over the loud speaker encouraging the children to yell “Push, Thomas, Push” in an effort to get the train rolling. Eventually the yells became deafening enough and we were on our way!!

The scenery was beautiful. We chugged along over Lake Blackshear and before we knew it we were headed back to the station. If there was one negative to be said, the train ride was a little short, but then again in a train car full of children…..

After getting off of the train there was a plethora of FREE activities for the children to participate in. Bounce houses, a playground, funnel cakes, face painting, temporary tattoos, story telling. Just a whole lot of fun activities.

We ate, played and enjoyed ourselves before heading home. Thomas will be in Cordele for another weekend before moving on to his next stop. Please visit a Day Out With Thomas online for additional information regarding ticket prices and locations. This was a wonderful fall activity for the family to enjoy.

I was provided compensation for this post. However, you already know from now until the end of time all opinions are mine.

Weekend Wrap Up

January 2, 2012

I hope you and your family have a great new year. I am glad the new year is here and I am ready to hit the ground running.

This weekend was rather low key considering it was New Years.

With the start of the new year I felt it necessary to get a new look…This is only a small portion of what hit the floor.

After that was said and done, I started off the weekend by attending the Pre New Years Eve Bash hosted by Lexi and Danielle of Curls, Coils and Kinks and The Style and Beauty Doctor respectfully. The event was held at Sole Boutique here in Atlanta at Atlantic Station. Cute space. They even offered a 30% off deal but there were too many people there and I have to focus when I make purchases. I’ll definitely be back though.

I spied my blog buddies Fran of Bossy Girl and Kita of Say What You Wanna

Trina and I shut it down and then headed over to California Pizza Kitchen for some dinner.

Socks: T.J. Maxx Shoes: Ross

Saturday morning, I headed out to drop some shirts off to a lady who will be adding Swarvoski crystals to a shirt design. Headed back home for a day of cleaning and grocery shopping. As evening fell I decided the kids and I would head out to church, and the Mr. went to see some friends who were in town. Sad for us, when we got to church no one was there. Our church has two campuses and evidently I missed the memo. So we headed back home and I counted down and kissed my babies for the new year.

Sunday, we took my stepdaughter home. I came home and whipped up the obligatory collard greens along with some chicken and potato salad for dinner. I must say it was good. I’m going to be domestic yet.

How was your New Years? Were you a party animal, church goer or homebody? I wanna know!!

13 translates into: Prototype Mama! This Fab Mama said she would rock her dress out to her best friends birthday bash! Congrats!!

In other news:

The summer is wrapping up for us and I am looking forward to everything going back to normal. School here starts on August 1, so I am in the process of getting Lil Man ready for Kindergarten *sniffles*  I can’t believe it. He is really pressing the issue about riding the school bus and I’m just not sure. Furthermore I’m stressing because I want to pack him lunches and send him with a lunchbox and smiley face notes. His dad says that’s lame. Is it?

Lil Mama left on Saturday morning to spend some time with her godmother in Fl. I miss her, but I was becoming a little unraveled. I needed a few days to myself. She’ll be back tomorrow. I will be refreshed by then.  Lil Mama is growing so fast, and has turned into quite the bully. Slapping and biting are her weapons of choice.

Well, after completing the 10K I have decided in an effort to maintain a healthy lifestyle I am going to start training for a half marathon. YES 13.1 miles. Me. <–. The plan is to do two. One in Savannah in November and the Disney Princess in February. I’m going to really keep track of my progress on the blog through a new app I found for my know accountability. With you all watching me, I will feel like a failure if I slack off and don’t go through with it. Don’t let me fall off. Okay?

I haven’t been taking as many photos as I would like trying to keep peace in the house with the kids. I did order some business cards from this site called Moo. If you need cards you have to go there. The quality is awesome and they are very reasonable.

Welp, that’s enough of my ramblings. How was your weekend?
