In case you hadn’t noticed Easter is just around the corner. With the hustle and bustle of buying dresses and practicing Easter speeches it is so easy to wait until the last minute to make plans regarding Easter dinner and post service fellowship.
Last year the family and I joined my best friend and her family for brunch at a local restaurant. This year she is hosting everyone at her home for a family style brunch. We’ve been requested to contribute a few dishes to the feast and being that I cook alright for us I would rather just pick up something that is ready to heat and eat for a large group of people. Mishap proof, cause something always goes wrong when I try to cook in large batches. I know my lane.
After visiting the Honey Baked Ham headquarters in December and having the opportunity to taste the majority of their heat and eat options I already know where my dishes are coming from.
These two were my favorites:
In the event you weren’t aware Honey Baked Ham also offers Turkey Breasts in addition to their signature Hams. Outside of the premium meats, there are also a plethora of options for heat and eat sides as well as delectable desserts.
Head over to your local Honey Baked store to see the selections for yourself. Please visit MyHoneyBakedStore.com for locations and hours as well as HoneyBakedOnline.com for shipping orders.
Honey Baked Ham will also be hosting a Twitter chat on April 15, 2014. April 15 is not just known as tax day but is also recognized as ” National Glazed Spiral Ham Day”. Please join us for a great conversation revolving around Easter family traditions using the hashtag #HoneyBakedEaster
Now for the fun part. Honey Baked Ham is offering one of you a $50 Gift Card to get your Easter dinner started. Winner must be a US resident. Contest will end on April 15. Good Luck!

I was provided compensation to facilitate this post. All opinions are mine. You already know!
Did ya miss me?!
Took a few weeks off to get well, enjoy the holidays and just reflect on my moves for 2014.
Christmas was well. We didn’t go all out for the children, each was given 3 gifts except for the baby. Lil Mama was blessed with 5 gifts, but she’s a baby still so yeah!
We decided moving forward that Christmas would be more about building traditions so Christmas Eve we made cookies
The baby woke at the crack of dawn. I tried to put her off for a few minutes. That Southern Comfort
mixed with Hennessy had me sleeping goooooooood, you hear me? My son got a tablet, my stepdaughter a laptop and Addison got her own baby tablet better known as a Nabi
I’m glad the holidays are over. It always seems like life is suspended and then everything goes back to normal. Now I’m just counting down the days until school is back in session. These folks are driving me crazy over here.
How was your Christmas? Anything spectacular happen? Anybody get engaged? Anybody get a new car?
Tuesday afternoon I had the pleasure of heading up to Honey Baked Ham’s Alpharetta headquarters to take a tour of their facility and learn more about the company, their business model and their classic and holiday product offerings.
I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Soundfreaq. I received a Soundfreaq Sound Spot to facilitate my review. ALL opinions are mine. You.Already.Know
I have these moments where I can watch television and then there are times like now when it wouldn’t matter if we had 5 or 0 televisions in this house. The general consensus is I am a music girl. Music has always been a big part of my life. I had an aunt who went to sleep with the “Quiet Storm” playing all night long on the radio, so in my sleep I heard music. Saturday morning when I heard my mother crank up the radio or turn on Soul Train I knew it was time to get up and clean up!
I normally just put on my headphones and listen to Rhapsody or iTunes and clean or do whatever I’m doing, but now I don’t have to because I was sent two Soundfreaq Sound Spots to review and I know this is going to sound corny but they are “freaqing” awesome! Initially I was all like why didn’t they send me two of the same color but reviewers can’t be choosy and when I heard how well the bass sounded I was sold.
How was Thanksgiving?
We laid low over here. As you can probably tell I failed miserably at NaBloPoMo this year. It wasn’t all my fault. Our internet went out..as in Charter had to come out here and do something to the line so I blame Charter that I wasn’t able to finish the challenge. To be honest I’ve been struggling with blogging for the past month or so. I just don’t know if I’m really into it any more, or if I just need to take a break or just take it back to the day when I didn’t care about all of the other stuff that came along with it other than having people genuinely come here and interact. Quietly LaShawn was all up in my head when she wrote this post
Anywho! Thanksgiving was great around these parts. I cooked a little sumthin’ sumthin’, family brought over a little sumthin’ sumthin’ and we enjoyed each other as family should. We hosted at our house so the refrigerator needs to be cleaned out. I just don’t even want to think about that part…ugh.
I didn’t hit up any Black Friday places except Target and I didn’t get what I came for but after reading about the aftermath of some of the activities on Black Friday to be honest this year was probably the last year I will be headed out. I am coming to realize it really isn’t that serious….We’ll see. I say that every year!
So we finally got an Elf on the Shelf this year. She has been named Bella and I won’t tell you how thrilled I am that she is a little chocolate drop like my Addison.
I just went back and read my blog posts from this time last year and it literally feels like this year flew by. I mean flew like a G6. Gone like Justin Timberlake.
This year went exceptionally well for me. I never take these things for granted, and in the past when my mind would wander in negative places I would think a good year was simply a setup for a bad one. Thank goodness for growth because I am looking at 2012 as only a small snippet of what is to come in 2013.

There have been mistakes and mishaps just as there has been good decisions and blessings. I take the good with the bad and I am ready for the new year. Sometime between now and the end of the week I will sit down with some of my old magazines…I mean old cause y’all know how I am about my beloved mailed publications and make me vision board. I have never done one so I am anxious to put those jumblings in my mind onto something visually creative to refer to during the year.
My major goals for the new year are:
To get moved into our new home
Seriously grow my blog
Start a new business ( it is in the workings…I’ll tell you in the new year)
Complete some major dental work that I have been putting off
because I’m scared
Live in the moment and enjoy my life…This one trumps every.thang. EVERYTHANG!
I hope your end of the year is going well and your plans are well under the way so that you can hit the ground running. I have been scarce around these parts for the past few weeks and it is likely I will not be around to your blogs or on social media for the remainder of the year…lies.
I just want you to know that I appreciate all of you for stopping by here, interacting with me on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. For taking out the time to type in comments and show concern and love when its needed. I take none of these things for granted and you all are appreciated. I wish you a Merry Christmas. I will see you guys in the New Year!!
